General:
Anglo-American are continuously looking for professional qualified Court reporters and videographers. As the UK’s premier American deposition agency, we are able to provide reporters with a variety of assignment options. Obviously the higher the level of your qualifications and abilities, the more likely lucrative work will be open

All reporters and videographers who work with Anglo-American are self-employed contractors and will be required to arrange their own tax and insurance affairs. All reporters working with us will need to sign a confidentiality agreement not only for our clients’ protection but for our company as well.

Contracting and sub-contracting for other reporting agencies or firms
Anglo-American are frequently asked to cover assignments for non-UK based reporting agencies. We have rules and procedures for this type of work:
Sub-contracting:
We will cover assignments for other reporting firms on the following terms (providing production is handled by the requesting party):
- We will provide a reduced rate for reporting services.
- We will charge a nominal copy commission for further copies after the original and one copy of the transcript. All on-site requests will be delivered by our reporter(s) and charged to the requesting party (drafts, real time connections etc).
- Billing to the end client is provided by the requesting party and our invoicing settled within 45 days.
- We will represent the requesting firm or agency.
- If we are referred assignments and the above does not apply, we will pay a referral fee to the requesting firm providing we supply the transcript production and billing to the end client(s). Billing is expected to be on a “pay when paid” basis unless by prior negotiation.
Contracting:
In the unlikely event we have to contract another reporting agency to cover our assignment(s) we will expect the same reciprocal arrangements as we supply to other sub-contracting firms or agencies, that being a reduced transcription rate, copy commission payment(s), and representation as Anglo-American reporting staff. If we refer work to another reporting agency we will expect the same agreed percentage referral commission in return.
It should be noted that hiring a reporter from another agency does not imply that the assignment is being ‘referred’ and we will assume that our agency reporting rates and our copy commission rates apply unless by prior agreement.
For subcontracting, we will respect client confidentiality, and for contracting, expect the same in return.
All of the above are in addition to our normal terms and conditions of business and are specifically for work that relates to other reporting agencies and not law firms, government departments or other non-reporting entities or their representatives. |
